When Covid 19 quarantine began in Texas during March of 2020, like everyone else’s family we started getting creative with ways to entertain our children and ourselves. Eventually, wanderlust got the best of us and we began shopping for our first travel trailer!
Getting away from our suburban home and immersed in nature provided a sense of peace and serenity that cannot be prescribed by a doctor. We learned to appreciate nature in a new way. We started noticing things we ignored before and found calm in a time of stress and worry. In the absence of organized sports and the traditional 8:00-5:00 rush, we also began to appreciate true family time. We have grown closer through our travel adventures and are making memories our children are sure to cherish.
The more we traveled, the more my Texas friends asked me about places to camp and things to do in the areas we visited. What started as a family scrapbook morphed into a blog that inspires others to find their own calm in nature, travel with their families, and make unforgettable memories together.
Five years later as I enter my 50s, I am beginning to include more life style content appealing to the 50 somethings and moms of older kids.
So why the title, “Champagne On Deck?” If you’ve ever watched a baseball game, you know that being “on deck” means you’re up next to bat—ready for your moment. As a baseball family, that phrase has always been part of our world, but for us, it’s more than just the game. Life itself is a series of “on deck” moments, always gearing up for the next big adventure. Whether it’s a road trip, a new experience, or just celebrating the everyday wins, we believe in stepping up to the plate and making the most of every inning.
So, welcome to my blog. I hope you stay and have a look around. If you don’t know where to start. Choose “Travel by Destinations” and check out some of our favorite posts.
