Things to do in Grand Prairie: Camping
#1 Loyd Park on Joe Pool Lake
For budget-friendly fun, visit Joe Pool Lake. The first time we visited Grand Prairie, we opted for RV camping at Loyd Park on Joe Pool Lake. After a simple lunch of sandwiches and chips, we hoped on the bikes to explore and visit Lynn Creek Park. Their playground has a great set up. We give it five stars! Just a few steps from the playground lies a white sand beach, restrooms and showers, boat ramps, concession stand, numerous picnic areas, picnic pavilions for groups, and a sand volleyball court. Our favorite amenity was the white sand beach! It’s one of the top attractions at Loyd Park and the best way to enjoy a swim.

Plus, they have live performances and cultural displays to keep everyone entertained.

Here you will find an enormous flea market with acres upon acres of shopping, food, and entertainment all in one place. There are rows and rows of colorful tents and booths selling everything under the sun – from handmade crafts to vintage treasures. Feast on treats like funnel cakes and turkey legs. But the best part? The rides and attractions for the kiddos! They will love the carousel, ferris wheel, and performances. Traders Village is definitely a must-visit if you’re looking for a fun-filled day out with the fam!

Things to Do in Grand Prairie: Entertainment
#9 Bolder Adventure Park
Imagine stepping into a colossal 66,000-square-foot playground where a new challenge awaits at every turn. This is my family’s favorite place to play in Grand Prairie. A few of the many mind blowing attractions at Boulder are listed below.
- Four steep tubing slides that will whisk you down slopes. Be sure to ask the kid in charge to spin you when they push you off!
- The Blaster Arena, my personal favorite activity, is like laser tag meets a target practice showdown. Here, kids (and parents!) can engage in epic battles, dodging air soft balls and aiming for the opponents’ targets all while strategizing their next move. The adrenaline rush is contagious!
- The most extreme rock walls will let you conquer heights and celebrate victories. I personally have never seen anything like this at an indoor facility.
- Play places, slides, a ball pit, and adventure nets suspended above the ground for climbing and bouncing are favorites for kids of all ages.
- Spin Zone Bumper Cars that spin and twirl leave everyone in fits of giggles.
- The Free Fall Experience is for the brave souls. The free fall simulator replicates the thrill of skydiving. The wind rushes past as you plummet—safely, of course!
- The simulated ice skating lets you ice skate without bundling up from the cold. No worries if you can’t skate. Skate trainers are available to keep everyone on their feet.
- Daring ropes courses and zip lines will challenge your muscles and any fear of heights. I had to bow out after the first level, but my nine year old made it through the entire course.
- In addition to the above, they have a few add on experiences including, archery, gem mining, and an arcade.
- You will work up an appetite. Visit their restaurant for pizza, Icees, adult beverages, and more!
#10 Horse Races
Head over to Grand Prairie for the Lone Star Park Horse Races. You will have a blast! The atmosphere is electric, with crowds cheering on their favorite horses as they thunder down the track. And let’s not forget about the food trucks – oh my goodness, the food is ah-mazing! Stuff yourselves silly with everything from juicy burgers to sweet treats, all while soaking in the excitement of the races. On select days they even have special activities for the kiddos. If you’re looking for a fun day out with the fam, I highly recommend checking out the Lone Star Park Horse Races – it’s a winner in my book!
#11 Louis Tussaud’s Palace of Wax

And let’s not forget the mirror maze—a mind-bending experience that’ll have you questioning your own reflection.
